Last night, a glittering mélange of celebrities, models, and patrons gathered at Cipriani Wall Street to honor Harvey Weinstein, longtime supporter of amfAR, at the HIV/AIDS research foundation’s New York gala. The evening helped kick off New York Fashion Week, with many guests gearing up for a busy week ahead. Fresh off a flight, Jourdan Dunn arrived in a floral Dolce & Gabbana dress; Hailey Baldwin shined in a sequined Pamella Roland gown; and Karlie Kloss flouted the black-tie dress code in favor of a Chanel shift and fingerless gloves à la Karl. Also in Chanel (couture) was Blake Lively, on the arm of husband Ryan Reynolds. In a nude Michael Kors gown, Emily Ratajkowski conceded, “I haven’t received my Fashion Week schedule yet, but I made sure I was spending Sunday night with my boyfriend!” referring to Valentine’s Day, a holiday often lost in the shuffle of the week.

Performing alongside the Icona Pop duo, Charli XCX was every bit the Hollywood screen siren in an ivory Vivienne Westwood dress and “very, very tall heels—I hope I don’t fall off the stage!” she remarked.

Inside the cavernous venue, guests found their seats at blue velveteen-draped tables with tulip-filled chinoiserie urn centerpieces. Over a steak dinner, the evening’s proceedings called on Diane Kruger, Uma Thurman, amfAR chairman Kenneth Cole, and amfAR CEO Kevin Robert Frost to honor the man of the evening and his exhaustive philanthropic contributions to amfAR and beyond. Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts, Matt Damon, and Anna Wintour also joined in by way of a congratulatory reel. “That film already has Oscar buzz,” quipped Robert De Niro.
