Los Angeles is a town where road rage–inducing traffic jams are a daily occurrence for locals. But the traffic around Sunset Boulevard was particularly heavy on Wednesday evening near the Hollywood Palladium—where Hedi Slimane decided to show his Fall 2016 men’s and part of the women’s collections in the week leading up to New York Fashion Week. Lady Gaga jumped out of a white Rolls-Royce wearing gold sequins and flats, while Lucky Blue Smith was ushered in through a private entrance and directed straight to the red carpet. Inside the Palladium it was dark and loud music was blasting through the speakers. Ellen DeGeneres greeted Sylvester Stallone with an embrace and later danced her famous jig in tandem with Justin Bieber as he walked up to her and Portia de Rossi’s seats to say hello. Lily Collins let out a squeal of excitement when she saw she was seated in the front row with her friends Patrick Schwarzenegger and Logan Lerman, and Vogue editors Hamish Bowles, Grace Coddington, and Lisa Love joined musicians Father John Misty, Sam Smith, Miguel, and Lenny Kravitz when they all took their seats as the lights dimmed and music lowered. Slimane’s models slinked across the catwalk in 93 different looks, and once the show came to a close, Father John Misty took to the stage to commence the rock concert after-party. While the folk singer crooned, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Autumn de Wilde, Dakota and Elle Fanning, and Langley Fox checked out the food stands offering salad, burgers and fries, noodles, and tacos. Next up onstage was Beck, followed by a host of other Saint Laurent favorites, who carried the party until the wee hours of the morning.
