Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen presented their Fall 2016 collection for The Row on Monday morning. Despite the snowy weather and bustle outside, the event was perfectly serene, with guests sitting in lounge chairs and couches, and Mary-Kate and Ashley sitting cross-legged on the carpet. 1. There was no pomp or circumstance at The Row today. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen sat on the floor beside their accessories, watching the show among their guests.
2. Said guests were seated on gorgeous mid-century furniture from Wyeth, a far cry from the wooden benches that have become the norm at most shows.
3. MK and A’s collection played off of the refinement The Row fans are used to, incorporating new elements like high-waist trousers and some subtle but eye-catching new hues.
4. Coats were a central theme of the collection. Expect this lilac astrakhan number to become a street style favorite.
5. Neutrals? Yes, there were plenty, from beige to caramel to nut brown.
6. The Olsens debuted a new velvet sling bag style in mossy green.
7. The Row is known for popularizing “lazy girl hair”—aka perfectly tousled, nonchalant manes. Those were in full force today, complemented by the show’s radiant, natural makeup.
8. Guest were treated to luxurious cashmere throws as a parting gift. Cream, charcoal, or black—take your pick.
