What with their Instagram accounts, clothing lines, and celebrity fans, it can feel like pets are people, too—but that doesn’t mean you expect to see them at fashion week. High-profile animals like Choupette Lagerfeld and Neville Jacobs may rule Instagram, but rarely do they join their famous parents in the front row. Until now. This morning at Chanel’s eco-conscious Grand Palais Spring 2016 Couture collection, Cara Delevingne appeared with a special friend in tow: her adopted mixed-breed pup, Leo.
Clad in a transparent sequin-covered bomber and gold chain–adorned combat boots, Delevingne sported a full Chanel look that was decidedly hard-edged, but Leo’s playful—if slightly bizarre—presence added a touch of sweetness. As her front row mate perched on her lap, playing with a chew toy, Delevingne couldn’t help but flash her best accessory: her smile. Whether or not the superstar’s canine couture coup will spark imitators remains to be seen, but with dog ladies outpacing cat ladies, the next front row addition may very well walk in on its own four paws. Plus, it’s cheaper than getting a dog walker.
