When the breadth of this fall’s trends ranges from romantic goths to prim-and-punky Lolitas, chances are you’ll find yourself staring into your reflection, questioning, “Who am I?” more than once in the coming months. Instead of having one go-to boot, you might need several—the good news is that Laurence Dacade’s new booties, launching exclusively with Bergdorf Goodman, will help.
Each of the five new styles is a reimagining of Dacade’s best-selling silhouette, a block-heel shape called the Pete, in a wide range of patterns and textures. (There will also be a sixth style created in collaboration with the Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine.) For the days you aspire to Janis Joplin levels of bohemian flair, try out the embroidered black leather offering. Feeling more minimalist? A patchwork fur option will pair nicely with head-to-toe white. Rebel hearts will find love in a pony-hair leopard style or a trompe l’oeil tattoo pattern, while classicists can count on a pair in a proper English tartan. “They all represent women in their different attitudes, emotions, and feelings,” Dacade tells Vogue.com.
And while these boots are pretty on the outside, they’re also created to be comfortable enough to wear every day. With years of experience making shoes, Dacade is quick to stress the importance of the “quality of the materials—leather, sole, lining, insole. It’s not only about what you see, but also what is hidden in the shoe that makes it comfortable and wearable.” All the more reason to make these amped-up silhouettes a go-to this season.
Laurence Dacade’s exclusive Bergdorf Goodman collection will be on sale in Bergdorf Goodman’s New York City store from September 17.
