The fashion scene was abuzz with the news out of Paris Fashion Week’s third day, from the supermodels on Balmain’s runway to the upside-down ones on Rick Owens’s. Get the scoop on those stories and more here.
1. The day started at Chloé, where Clare Waight Keller crafted an ode to women recognizable by one name only: “Kate, Chloé, Cecilia, Corinne, Rosemary, Emma, and Courtney.” The results ranged from rave-ready pants to dreamy day dresses.
2. Julien Dossena sent out pieces at Paco Rabanne that played on fashion’s dual obsessions: athleisure and nostalgia. We think they’d fare best at this summer’s music festivals, places where the cool factor is just as important as the comfort one.
3. Olivier Rousteing presented a slinky safari at Balmain today that culminated in a series of cascading ruffles.
4. At Balmain, Sam McKnight readied Rousteing’s army with bombshell ponytails, telling Vogue.com, “She’s sexy, yes, but she’s really more of a warrior.”
5. Behold, the week’s most exciting star snaps, including the unlikely pairing of Diplo and Travis Scott at Balmain.
6. Rick Owens, Paris’s resident fashion philosopher, offered a treatise of women’s strength, harnessing models together for their march out. Oh, and there was some relatable ready-to-wear, too.
7. There was a certain “greatest hits” mood at Alber Elbaz’s Spring collection for Lanvin, with reworkings of the themes he knows and loves: deconstruction, sequins, loose glamour, and the house of Lanvin itself.
8. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself reaching for the bobby pins and bows this weekend. Guido Palau’s artfully messed chignons at Lanvin were as charming as Elbaz’s clothes.
9. Phoebe, Alessandro, Donatella, and more turned out for Vogue’s dinner in honor of Instagram’s Kevin Systrom.

10. From DHL tees to velvet midi dresses, Vetements’s Spring collection covered a lot of ground. Mixed in with the oversize blazers and shrunken corsets was plenty for the brand’s cool-kid customer to fawn over.
11. Just because Gosha Rubchinskiy doesn’t show a women’s collection doesn’t mean he can’t make an appearance at Paris Fashion Week. The Russian designer tried his hand at modeling, opening the Vetements show.
