Why complicate things? Dear Frances is a British luxury shoe brand founded on an m.o. of easy elegance. After capturing plenty of hearts across the pond since its launch, the line is making its debut stateside this month with a strong bid for the U.S. market. Designer Jane Frances specializes in creating timeless, immaculately manufactured styles at a price point that’s competitive in the world of high-end footwear—particularly given the hyper-luxe fabrications, all courtesy of the family-owned Italian factory that Dear Frances has worked with since its inception. Says Frances: “They, like us, are passionate about the process involved in ensuring equal care goes into every pair we make. The emphasis is on classic design with a modern twist and always using the finest Italian leathers and craftsmanship. The materials range from supple kid leathers, luxurious velvets, and soft suedes to the more modern mesh, intricate lace, and high-quality lucites.”
Lucite? Through the brand’s lens it comes to elegant new life, as seen in the Float boots and Poser mules, whose pale beech-wood heels are accented by a thin sliver of Plexiglass—to seemingly gravity-defying results. Spring 2016’s Still Life collection offers styles for every hour of the day, from chunky, office-ready loafers to delicate, color-blocked stilettos that tie at the ankle for a seductive touch.
The brand is currently in talks with key retailers, but customers in most parts of the U.S. can enjoy complimentary one- to two-day shipping on orders from the brand’s site.
