While most of the country was layering on ski socks and tying up their Sorels, a group of Angelenos gathered alfresco on a warm evening to celebrate Superga’s latest collaboration with jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer. Flickering votives lined the black-and-white–marbled entry hall to the Chateau Marmont’s Penthouse 64, and the walls were hung with pictures taken from Meyer’s new lookbook in which she and her children were the models. Waiters passed around trays of mini caviar toasts and pigs in a blanket while some of Meyer’s closest friends, Kate Hudson, Courteney Cox, and Demi Moore among them, mused over the full collection of shoes on display, which included different color high- and low-top styles with embellishments like palm trees and four-leaf clover charms. Perhaps as an early nod to Valentine’s Day, Meyer chose to wear a pair of her pink low-tops decorated with red hearts and arrows. There was also a photo booth decked out with long flower garlands and labeled “Kissing Booth” where Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs posed for a few pictures in the spirit of the upcoming holiday.
Meanwhile, outside on the patio overlooking Sunset Boulevard and the Hollywood Hills, the music was turned up a bit louder and guests lounged on plush furniture around tables decorated with soft pink roses, votives, and custom Jennifer Meyer for Superga matchbooks. Meyer’s husband, Tobey Maguire, stood in conversation with Scooter Braun, no doubt consoling each other over the fact that the new kicks are available only in women’s and kids’ styles for now.
