Since Ticketmaster posted a sale for a combined Yeezy Season 3 and Swish premiere at Madison Square Garden taking place on February 11, the Internet has been abuzz with speculation. Is Kanye West planning an epic affair for New York Fashion Week? Could it be for real?
We’re here to report that, yes, West will be presenting Yeezy Season 3 and the world premiere of his new album, Swish, in its entirety at Madison Square Garden at 4:00 p.m. EST on the 11th of February. Not only does the affair have potential to fill the stadium’s 18,200 seats, but it will also be streamed in several theaters worldwide, likely increasing the number of attendees and watchers into the high five figures. (More info about tickets and additional viewing locations will be posted at Tickets.KanyeWest.com.)
As for what will happen inside the Garden, the show’s invite could offer some small clues. Vanessa Beecroft is credited with a performance—she’s worked with West on his past two Yeezy presentations. The invite’s main logo is a slanted “Y” in a muted marigold, vermilion, and chocolate brown, perhaps hinting that West will continue his explorations of neutral monochromes in the upcoming collection. A photo by documentary photographer Paul Lowe taken during the Rwandan genocide in 1995 also appears.
We’ll let you know what happens at MSG on Vogue Runway right after the show. Until then, watch this space for more updates about Yeezy Season 3 and the Swish album drop.
